About the Author

I was born in February of 1983 in Rolla, MO, the daughter of a home missionary.  I grew up as a typical church kid, sleeping under pews and playing in church yards.  I was baptized in Jesus' name at the age of 8 and received the Holy Ghost in June of 1994.  In the coming years church became my life.  I began teaching Sunday School and working with young people at a young age and became a full-time musician at 14.

Upon graduation from high school I attended college and obtained a BA in History and teaching certification and then entered the work force as an elementary school teacher.  The years following included balancing a career and being active in the local church.  In 2011 I was given the opportunity to spend 2 weeks in China on a business trip.  During that trip I developed a burden for the foreign field.

In 2015, I married Rev. Jason Hood.  Jason had been a full-time missionary in Latin America for 8 years and was serving in the country of Belize when we met.  He returned to the United States in January of 2015 and we married in June of that year.  After the honeymoon, we began traveling throughout the United States evangelizing.  In February of 2017, we felt the call to plant a church in Lebanon, MO.  We are excited about the work God is doing in Lebanon and look forward to seeing many lives changed in the months ahead.

Outside of our work in ministry, I enjoy gardening, sewing, cooking, scrapbooking and spending time maintaining our home.  I am an avid writer with several works in progress in addition to this blog.  I drive a school bus and substitute teach in the local school district.
